My first attempt to build effective on-line business was in 2005, with an organization called Our Power Forced Matrix or OPFM, ran by Thomas Thompson. In the end OPFM was determined to be a scam. Unfortunately I had paid out approximately $300.00, convinced a few friends and relatives to join, participated in forum activities and some management activities. Then it was discovered by some folks within the membership, that Mr. Thompson was misleading the members and did not create a valid system, as he had outlined to the growing 80,000 plus membership. The marketing and participation had sold me on OPFM, but the person running the op and the business model were flawed. I could not personally see the flaws in the owner of the business or the business model at any time, but placed faith in the written word about it. In the end, it cost me and many other folks dearly. The after effect of it all was even worse, since my family and friends would no longer listen to anything about on-line biz ops from me.
Did I give up like most people would do?
No, I already had many successful years behind me doing pc and software support related services, established myself as an honest and reliable asset with the folks and businesses I came to know up until that time, so there is no turning away, as far as I am concerned.
No, I am not a network marketer or operate my own mlm business as my main source of business, at least not yet anyway. Since 2005, I have been attempting to build an effective mlm, network marketing business or any type of valid on-line business, but today it seems that there is very few actual and reliable businesses available to operate on the Internet
Most of those on-line good fortune mlm or network marketing businesses are similar to buying a car a piece at a time.
Who does that, buys a car a piece at a time?
As far as a I know only hobbyists and collectors, not people actually trying to make a living.
You can buy and build a library of “information products” or reference materials just like the physical books you have in your own personal library, at home or in your business. Who sells their used books or information products?
On-Line Information product owners and affiliates sell the bulk of their wares, usually to new green people who have not been around long enough to know the difference yet. Basically that is what goes on with most of the network marketing or mlm businesses you find on-line.
There is a huge market for helping people with their very small business on-line or off-line. Most people will not tell you or show you how to tap into those markets for a number of reasons, but one prime reason usually is, it is their knowledge and you have to pay for it to gain access to it and possibly have some success with your own on-line very small business adventure. If someone worked hard to get where they are at and is willing to help others too, then the should be paid for it as well. Besides if you are new to online marketing, even if someone gave you what you needed and told you what to do, it is fairly useless until you actually work the system for a while, their way and yours to get effective results for your own benefit.
Unless you are and have been in the business of buying and selling goods and services for a while already, the odds are, you are not going to make any kind of sufficient money to stay alive.
The bottom line with marketing anything is if you cannot walk up and down the street and sell it, why are you trying to sell it anywhere else? Maybe because the people have not caught on to you yet.
Have you ever heard of the term “here today, gone tomorrow” in business? Many people attempt business, whether off-line or on-line, and fail! That is the nature of business and the “gone tomorrow” part. Persistence, patience and understanding helps but if you are “gone tomorrow” too, usually due to your own lack of persistence, patience or understanding, maybe you do not have what it takes to own and run a business.
That is okay, since it is by choice whether or not you have your own business and market your products and services. In today’s economy a lot more people are earning an income strictly from an on-line business that supplements their physical products or services.
There is money to be made in re-selling other peoples goods and services. How? Affiliate marketing is a really good way. It takes time and usually you do need to maintain your own Internet business or personal site, so you can provide essential valid information to other folks who want to make money like you do.
People buy goods and services for many different reasons. The more reasons you have for people to buy your goods or services, the better. The more reasons you have for people to buy other peoples goods or services from you, the better.
Did you buy a Pet Rock years ago? From a practical point of view, what purpose does a pet rock have? How many reasons can you think of as to why you would buy a pet rock?
I am a practical thinker and I can only think of one reason why I would have bought a pet rock for myself. As a paper weight.
On the other hand, if someone I cared about wanted a pet rock, well then, I would have purchased one for them and never asked why they wanted it. Just knowing they wanted it is enough reason, which is outside of my own practical point of view.
Do I buy things for myself that are not practical? Yes I do and as far as I can tell everyone does. Not everyone considers “practical” in the same way, just as humor to one person is not humor to another person.
When marketing any product or service, you have to consider all the possibilities of who, what, where, when, how and why? From the finite to the broadest possibilities.
A market is a place where something is sold. You could have a great product or service, but it will go nowhere when presented to an incorrect market. You could have a great market, but nothing will get sold, when presented with an incorrect product or service.
Just keep repeating the above two paragraphs to yourself a few times and hopefully your struggle to survive in business will subside, one way or another.
Would you like to read some more information I have published?
Check out these five articles I originally published them in June of 2009, but had to move them around due to deprecating open source software. Sometime, soon I will be pulling them, rewriting them and expanding on the topics and releasing the info in a ebook or something similar. Usually you would write an ebook and then release the articles to refer back to the ebook to generate sales. Most effective articles only need to be anywhere from 300 to 1000 words, depending on what conclusions you wish the reader to draw from the info.
